Thinking Green: Clay resist and indigo dyeing

Event description

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the art of clay resist and indigo dyeing to upcycle your pre-loved clothing. Bring your own garments and discover how to create unique patterns and breathe new life into them.

You’ll also gain insights into the textile industry, learn how to prepare an indigo vat, and explore the fascinating clay resist technique. Perfect for those looking to combine creativity with sustainability!

What to bring:
  • Two or three suitable garments for dyeing, such as shirts, skirts, pants.
  • We recommend bringing items that are light coloured, plain and do not have patterns so you can see the full effect of the clay resist and indigo dye techniques.

Please book in as spaces are limited. For all inquiries please contact the Sustainable Environment Officer on (08) 9267 9282.
