The purpose of the local law is to establish, organise, maintain, fund and administer bush fire brigades.
The effect of the local law is that Bush Fire Brigades will be managed and organised to comply with this local law.

The Bush Fire Brigades Local Law, as published in the Government Gazette, will come into effect 14 days after the publication.

The City of Swan will remove a barrier closing a portion of Talbot Road in Hazelmere on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
The removal was approved at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
The closure has been in place since 2009 and prevents public vehicle access to the area.
