Make your own percussion instrument at Old Midland Courthouse

Event description

You will be guided by the current Swan Writer in Residence, Talya Valenti, who will demonstrate how to make the various instruments. Talya Valenti is well-known in Perth/Boorloo as a drummer and emerging composer.

Participants can choose which instrument they make and are welcome to make multiple if time permits.

All materials will be provided but feel free to bring any special beads, small containers, seed pods or nuts that you would like to incorporate into your design.

We will enjoy a curated playlist of percussive tracks and enjoy the process together!

This program is suitable for all ages and is a hands-on craft workshop. Photographs and videos may be taken of the event. Please book one ticket for each person attending.
