The Swan Valley Visitor Centre (SVVC) is once again serving as a drop-off point for this year’s Salvation Army Christmas Appeal to support local families in need.
The SVVC is accepting donations until 4pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
The SVVC is located on the corner of Meadow Street and Swan Street in Guildford and is open seven days a week from 9am to 4pm.
Please make your donations as early as possible to help ensure all gifts are delivered to families in time for Christmas.
For your donations, please consider:
· Gifts that suit older age groups – every year the appeal is overwhelmed with gifts for younger children
· Gift vouchers to places such as cinemas, sporting stores, electronic stores and department stores
· Outdoor equipment such as bicycles, beach gear, camping equipment
· Cleaning and hygiene items such as toiletries and baby care
· Non-perishable foods such as pre-made meals, biscuits, jelly, cereal, baby food, and tinned fruits, vegetables, soups and pasta sauces
· Christmas dinner items such as puddings, cakes and table décor.
For more ideas on what to donate, please read the Salvation Army’s list of suggestions provided here:

Your donations make a difference every year – this year, the impact is even greater
The rise in the cost of living bears heavily on already struggling families and puts new pressures on others.
If you are a regular donor, help promote this appeal with your friends and community – these donations may be the only gift and wholesome meal someone receives all year. For more information about the appeal, visit the Salvation Army website.
