Pride Month: Celebrating our diverse community

City and Council

Everyone is welcome in the City of Swan, which is why we were proud to host and support a range of Pride events in November.

It is the most colourful month of the year as we celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, who are a significant part of our community.

The inaugural Pride Swan Festival at Carnegie Triangle, Midland is at the heart of the month-long celebrations.

The community-driven event boasts all the colours of the rainbow to celebrate inclusivity, diversity and unity.

Thanks to Ellenbrook Rotary Club, Midland Anglican Church, GRAI, Radio 88.5 FM, Pride in Swan Community Group, and Jeannie Consulting, and all our allies who make the day possible and so much fun.

The City celebrates inclusivity and diversity all year by providing a range of programs and services.

The Youth Development team's Our Place program offers various initiatives for LGBTIQA+ young people and we support a monthly LGBTIQA+ SB safe space gathering for adults at the newly opened Dayton Family Hub.

The City’s Community Grants Program also supports local community groups in celebrating WA PRIDE Month each November.

We encourage everyone from the City of Swan and beyond to come together and show your support for Pride this November.
