Kids and family

Discover stories, rhymes and activities in Storytime, a program for parents and young children to connect with the magic of books and storytelling! No booking required. Suitable for children aged 2-5.

Singing rhymes and songs together is a lovely way to bond with your child and will help them learn to talk, build vocabulary and develop essential listening skills. No booking required. Suitable for children aged 2-24 months.

If you have a baby under 24 months come down to your local library.

Meet other parents, enjoy a coffee and a chat, and find out what's on in the local area for families, parents and babies. This program gives parents of young children an opportunity to connect with other families and discover resources and programs within the community, while their children enjoy a Rhymetime session at the start. No bookings required.

Young adults

Futures Lab provides exciting opportunities to engage with emerging and creative technologies through a variety of hands-on workshops and physical spaces.

Futures Lab also offers a range of after-school programs designed to equip young people with the skills to adapt and thrive in our rapidly-evolving world. Hosted by highly-skilled presenters, these interactive, collaborative and creative workshops explore technologies in areas such as robotics, sound recording, coding, virtual reality and 3D printing.

Adults

We have book clubs running at Beechboro, Bullsbrook, Guildford and Midland libraries. Our book clubs are open to adults of all ages and reading levels. Contact a library for more information.

Western Australian Public Libraries has started a new free online book club! As a City of Swan library member, you'll also have access to a free ebook copy of the titles for the duration that they are discussed. Please contact your local branch for assistance.

Improve your English by getting engaged with a social conversation group. You'll have the chance to practice your skills and meet new people, as well as take part in a range of activities. Bookings are not required. Please note that this program is suitable for adults. While our library facilitators assist with language practice, they are not teachers.
