Gather - Fibrant Art Group exhibition opening

Join us for the official opening of Gather - Fibrant Art Group Exhibition on Sunday, September 29 from 2-4pm at Ellenbrook Arts, 34 Main Street, Ellenbrook WA 6069.

Featuring work by Anne Williams, Ayako Goto, Bec Suardana, Cathy Rankin, Delys Brady, Fernanda Cook, Irene Tasma, Joyce Tasma, Julia Andrijasevich, Julia Sutton, Naomi Hethey-Lerner, Pauline White and Rowan Rovere.

Fibrant is a community-based textile group who use recycled and natural materials. Their motto is “Feed your soul with your hands”, and the artists work in a variety of mediums, including: felting, hand and machine stitching, eco-dyeing, bookmaking, weaving, beading, basketry/sculpture, painting and mixed media techniques to create unusual and beautiful artworks.

Most of the artists use an element of repurposed materials and found objects, and this is a recurring theme and aligns with the group's shared ethical stance on recycling and raising awareness of environmental issues.

This exhibition is a part of the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial 2024.
